Here’s a look at the latest rankings:
No. 1 CARDINAL MOONEY
Cardinal Mooney had an impressive week to retain its top spot in the poll.
The Cardinals are 13-2 on the season and recorded triumphs over Canfield (8-6), Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary (2-1) and Akron Hoban (9-1) last week.
The Cardinals’ pitching staff has held 10 of the opponents it’s played to a single run or less this season.
The Cards will play Warren JFK, Lakewood St. Edward, Lakeview and Howland this week.
No. 2 HOWLAND
The Howland Tigers maintained their No. 2 spot in the rankings.
The Tigers possess a 10-3 ledger and have won six straight contests, including victories over Stow (8-4) and the Pymatuning Valley Lakers (12-2) last week.
Howland is averaging just under 10 runs per-game this spring.
The Tigers will take on Canfield and Cardinal Mooney in key games this week.
No. 3 POLAND
The Poland Bulldogs keep climbing in the poll and have vaulted from No. 6 to No. 3 this week.
The Bulldogs own a 9-3 record and have won five of their past six games, including wins last week over Lakeview by scores of 5-4 and 11-7 and Girard (8-2).
The Blue and White will face Struthers, Niles McKinley and McDonald this week.
No. 4 McDONALD
McDonald enters the poll this week at No. 4.
The Blue Devils are 10-3 overall and defeated Campbell Memorial last week by a score of 10-0. McDonald has won five of its past six games and has outscored its opponents, 126-27.
McDonald will play Lowellville, Springfield and Poland this week.
No. 5 CANFIELD
Canfield, which has won four games in a row, checks in at No. 5 in the rankings.
The Cardinals have compiled an 11-7 record and defeated Warren Harding by scores of 12-0 and 13-2 and Struthers (6-2) last week.
The Cardinals will go up against Howland and Parma Holy Name this week.
No. 6 SPRINGFIELD
The Springfield Tigers enter the poll this week at No. 6.
The Tigers are 9-5 and have won three of their past four games, including wins over Mineral Ridge (3-1) and Waterloo (12-2 and 14-0).
The Tigers will face Western Reserve, Crestview and McDonald this week.
No. 7 YOUNGSTOWN URSULINE
The Ursuline Irish are No. 7 in the rankings this week.
Ursuline, which plays a demanding schedule, is 9-5 and defeated Warren JFK (11-4) last week.
The Irish will go up against Lakewood St. Edward, South Range and Massillon this week.
