BELOIT — One of the earliest spring races in the Greater Mahoning Valley is set Saturday, May 16 when the 19th annual Ryan Johnson Runners Believe Memorial Run/Walk is held at West Branch High School.

The walk is set for 6 p.m. and the 5K run will follow at 7 p.m.

The race has attracted between 150-200 runners in the past and from as many as four states.

Because West Branch is located halfway between Canton and Youngstown, event organizers are hopeful of attracting runners from a large tri-county area.

Pre-race registration is $30.00 and includes a t-shirt and guaranteed medal. Race day registration is also $30 but t-shirts and medals are on a first-come, first-served basis. There will also be food and drink provided for all runners following the race.

Persons may pre-register on the website at gcxc youngstown.
