The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Warren Post is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on Tuesday, May 12. Authorities said the crash occurred on Mount Everett Road Southeast in the area of Seifert Lewis Road SE, Hubbard Township, Trumbull County.

A 2021 Dodge Ram, driven by Dominic A. Moretti, 20, of Hubbard was traveling east on Mount Everett Road. Moretti went off the left side of the roadway and struck a number of trees before the vehicle rolled to a final stop, according to a police report.

In addition to the driver there were three passengers in the vehicle. Authorities said two of the passengers were juvenile brothers.

The third passenger, Brendon E. Nichols, 31, of Youngstown, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and died from his injuries on scene, according to officials.

Authorities said the vehicle occupants were not wearing seatbelts and speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
