When to visit newly-opened gift shop in Warren featuring 26 local vendors

She’s also opened a new permanent gift shop perfect for spring weekend shopping excursions.
Community members gathered for the grand opening of the storefront for The Vault of Vendors at 1555 Woodland NE in Warren for the grand opening on May 2.
“I wanted to do one collective space that supports all local small businesses in one, that’s not an event or a large marketplace,” DeJacimo-Shelley said. “I’m very, very big on supporting women-owned, especially local small business, and they’re all women-owned business owners leasing space. I was able to get it for such an affordable price that I’m able to offer them very affordable monthly rent, and then direct sales go to them.”
DeJacimo-Shelley said she was inspired to start The Vault of Vendors to support local small businesses in a new way that’s convenient.
“I was doing lots of porch pickups, and would have to leave the pool to get my sourdough. If I couldn’t make a vendor show, it’s hard to get these products when they don’t have a storefront. I wanted them to each get their own exposure,” she said. “None of them had a storefront, except for Dot Lou, so they’re either at a market, doing porch pickups, or some of them have sheds where you get pick-ups. We gotta stick together; it’s not a competition, but it’s getting them the exposure of a storefront for a very affordable rent per month.”
Twenty-six business owners have products inside the store.
“There’s something for men, women, even kids; from gifts to baked goods to clothing and dog treats, it really has a little bit of something for everybody,” DeJacimo-Shelley said.
Find non-toxic salves and sunscreens, GIA Designz’s custom jean jackets, freeze-dried candy from The Freze Queen and gluten-free baked goods by Double D Bakery.
Bring home some all-natural dog treats crafted by Bad Rep Dog Co., or a bag of natural popcorn from D&R Popcorn Expressions.
“Everything is handcrafted and non-toxic with natural ingredients, from skin care to body and rose sprays, to candles, soaps and towels,” DeJacimo-Shelley said.
Products are freshly stocked weekly at The Vault of Vendors which is open from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
“The vendors are responsible for their own stocking and inventory, so the ones who need to, especially fresh baked goods, they get restocked like every Friday,” DeJacimo-Shelley said. “The beautiful thing about it is it’s so close to my salon. I don’t have to leave work to go meet people to let them in. It’s all right there in front of the salon.”
