Here’s a look the latest rankings:
No. 1 CARDINAL MOONEY
Youngstown Cardinal Mooney easily remains No. 1 in the poll.
The Cardinals are 22-3 and won a Division IV district championship last week with a 3-1 triumph over the Field Falcons.
Mooney is averaging 8.5 runs per game while its pitching staff has held 13 of its opponents to one run or less this season.
The Cardinals will play the Norton Panthers in a Division IV regional semifinal this week.
No. 2 POLAND
The Poland Bulldogs vault from No. 5 to No. 2 in the rankings after an impressive week on the diamond.
The Bulldogs, who sport a record of 18-6, copped a Division V district championship last week in a 13-0 rout of the Crestview Rebels.
Poland will play the Lakeview Bulldogs in a Division V regional semifinal this week.
No. 3 LAKEVIEW
Lakeview is once again the No. 3 team in the ratings.
The Bulldogs, who are 20-7, won a Division V district crown last week after they defeated the Triway Titans 6-3.
Lakeview is penciled in to play Northeast 8 opponent Poland in Division V regional semifinal action this week.
No. 4 LaBRAE
LaBrae moves up from No. 6 to No. 4 in this week’s poll after winning a Division VI district championship last week.
The Vikings own a 20-5 ledger and claimed their district title in an 8-3 triumph over the Springfield Tigers last week.
LaBrae will play Lake Center Christian in a D6 regional semifinal this week.
No. 5 MAPLEWOOD
Maplewood, which is on a five-game winning streak and won a Division VII district crown last week, jumps up from No. 7 to No. 5 in the poll.
The Rockets own a 17-9-1 record and won their district championship last week with a 3-1 verdict over Andrews Osborne Academy.
The Rockets will play in regional semifinal action this week against Tiffin Calvert.
No. 6 CANFIELD
Canfield, which has concluded its season at 21-8, is No. 6 in the ratings.
The Cardinals saw their season come to an end in a close 5-4 setback to the University School Preppers in a Division III district title contest last week.
No. 7 McDONALD
McDonald rounds out the poll at No. 7 this week.
The Blue Devils, who won their tier championship in the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference, advanced to the Division VII district title game last week before being eliminated from the tourney in a close 5-4 setback to Kidron Central Christian.
McDonald concluded its campaign with a final record of 17-6.
