Ohio investigators seek public’s help in Trumbull County arson
Investigators with the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal have determined that a fire that occurred outside a home in Trumbull County over the weekend was intentionally set. They are now seeking tips from the public to help identify those responsible.
Officials said at 12:21 a.m. this past Saturday, May 30, the Bazetta Township Police Department was dispatched to an attempted vehicle fire at 2230 Perkins Jones Ct. in Bazetta Township. Three residents were inside the home at the time of the fire; however, no injuries were reported. The vehicle fire had gone out by the time authorities arrived on scene.
The fire has been ruled as arson by the Division’s Fire and Explosion Investigations Bureau (FEIB) and the Bazetta Township Police Department. The police department is also investigating gun shots that were fired toward the home as the suspects were leaving the scene.
The FEIB is requesting the public’s help in identifying the individual or individuals who may have been involved.
A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered by the Blue Ribbon Arson Committee for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
