Anthony Catale has been named the new principal of John F. Kennedy Catholic School Upper Campus in Warren.

School officials said Catale brings nearly two decades of experience in Catholic education as a teacher and administrator. He has spent the past four years as Principal of St. Rose Catholic School in Girard.

During his tenure at St. Rose, Catale said he’s most proud of leading efforts to strengthen Catholic identity, improve academic achievement through data-informed instruction, expand co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities, enhance school safety, and foster enrollment growth.

He previously served John F. Kennedy Catholic School as both a history teacher and Dean of Students.

Catale earned his undergraduate degrees from Walsh University and holds a Master of Education degree from the University of North Texas. He is a lifelong product of Catholic Education in Youngstown and is a graduate of Ursuline High School. His first day at Warren JFK is July 1.

Catale said he is truly honored and humbled to return to John F. Kennedy Catholic School Upper Campus as Principal.

“Catholic education is not simply my profession, but my vocation. In many ways, this opportunity feels like a homecoming for me, and I am deeply grateful to Superintendent Dr. Steven Jones, Mr. Pituch, and the JFK Board of Directors for their trust, confidence, and support in allowing me the opportunity to once again serve a community that holds such a special place in my heart,” he said. “I look forward to working collaboratively with the entire JFK community as we continue building upon the school’s strong tradition of faith, academic excellence, and service. Guided by Gospel values and the tradition of courage, integrity, and dedication, I am excited to help lead the next chapter of JFK’s history as we prepare our Eagles to soar academically, spiritually, and personally as young men and women of faith and purpose.”

Warren JFK President William Pituch said he is excited for Catale to be rejoining the team at Kennedy and working with him to further advance the mission of Catholic education in Warren.

“He’s a dedicated Catholic educator who knows the community well and the importance of what we do,” he said.

Superintendent Dr. Steven Jones said Catale brings with him not only years of experience but a genuine love for JFK.

“He’s eager to return to the upper campus and to Warren more broadly, and I know will do great things for the school,” Jones said.

Catale starts July 1.
