Primanti Bros.’ roots date back to 1933, when sales from Joe Primanti’s small sandwich cart first started booming in the Strip district, turning into a full family business.

Primanti Bros. is best known for popularizing a Pittsburgh staple sandwich with fresh-cut French fries, grilled meat like pastrami, provolone cheese, coleslaw and Italian bread.

Customers continued to love the sandwich for its convenience and freshness, prompting the company to expand across Pennsylvania and into the Mahoning Valley and Wes Virginia.
