Here’s what’s happening for Juneteenth in Youngstown and Warren 2026
Juneteenth became a national 2021. Every summer, members of the Mahoning Valley community gather to celebrate music, share food, dance and learn about African-American culture.
Here’s what’s happening leading up to and during the week of Juneteenth in 2026:
Trumbull County
Join the Trumbull County African American Achievers Association Heritage Festival opening June 5 in historic downtown Warren.
The 40th annual African American Heritage Festival features food, entertainment and music from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. through June 7.
On June 6, the TCAAAA parade steps off at 10 a.m. starting at Restoration Church proceeding to Courthouse Square.
Mahoning County
Before the official weeklong Juneteenth celebration, community members are invited to the third annual Southside Classic car and bike show on June 6 from 1 - 7 p.m. at Homestead Park in Youngstown. There will be vendors and bounce houses.
Organizers have a lot planned for the sixth annual Youngstown Juneteenth Cultural Festival, with events from June 13 through June 21.
The first event is the Safe Zones All City Variety Show at South High School on June 13.
Community leader Dr. Lewis W. Macklin II was named the grand marshal for the 2026 Juneteenth Legacy Parade, which is set to start at 11 a.m. on June 19 at Commerce Street. It’s free to participate, but organizers ask that you’re registered by June 8.
The celebration continues the next three days with vendors, food trucks and musical performances, plus a car show and the return of the Sunday Soul Food Cook Off Competition.
Some events are new this year, like the drone show at Wean Park and Twisted Roots’ Juneteenth Rhythm Fest, plus a community pop-up skate experience courtesy of the Youngstown Skatepark Association.
