Here’s a look at the rankings:
No. 1 AUSTINTOWN FITCH
Austintown Fitch, which qualified for the Division I state tournament, earned the No. 1 spot in the final rankings.
The Falcons won the outright All-American Conference crown with a perfect league record and also won sectional, district and regional championships to advance to last week’s state tournament in Akron. They were eliminated from the tournament after dropping a 4-0 decision to the Lancaster Golden Gales in the semifinals.
Fitch finished the season with the best overall record in the area at 26-1.
No. 2 MAPLEWOOD
Maplewood, which finished as the Division VII state runner-up, ends No. 2 in the poll.
The Mustangs, who won sectional, district and regional titles, advanced to the state tournament.
Maplewood posted a 4-0 win over South Charleston Southeastern in the state semifinals and brought home the state runner-up trophy after dropping a 3-0 decision to Portsmouth Notre Dame, which successfully defended its crown, in the state championship game.
Maplewood finished the year at 28-3.
No. 3 SOUTH RANGE
South Range, which advanced to the D5 state tournament, earned the No. 3 spot in the final ratings.
The Raiders qualified for the state tourney where they lost to Findlay Liberty Benton in the semifinals.
South Range finished the season with a fine record of 23-8.
No. 4 LAKEVIEW
The Lakeview Bulldogs get the No. 4 nod in the final rankings.
The Bulldogs, who won the Northeast 8 Conference title this spring, advanced all the way to the Division IV regional semifinals where they were nipped 2-1 by Field, which went on to qualify for the Division IV state tourney.
Lakeview finished the season with a record of 23-6.
No. 5 CARDINAL MOONEY
The Cardinal Mooney Cardinals finished No. 5 in the poll.
Cardinal Mooney advanced to the Division V regional where it dropped a 4-3 decision to South Range, which went on to qualify for the state tourney.
The Cardinals closed out the campaign with a final record of 17-7.
No. 6 JACKSON-MILTON
The Jackson-Milton Bluejays earned the No. 6 spot in the final rankings.
The Blue Jays qualified for the Division VI regional tournament where they were eliminated by eventual state runner-up Maplewood.
The Bluejays concluded the season with a record of 19-7.
No. 7 SOUTHINGTON CHALKER
Rounding out the final poll at No. 7 is Southington Chalker.
The Wildcats qualified for the Division VII regional tourney before being eliminated by the Newark Catholic 3-2 in the semifinals.
The Wildcats closed out the campaign with a final record of 12-6.
