In August, hit the green for a great cause where every sponsorship, donation and golfer help make wishes come true.

Courtney Jordan works as an Inside Sales Territory Manager for Linde Welding Gas & Equipment Center in Youngstown.

She’s a Hubbard native and organizes Linde’s annual corporate fundraiser. Through the golf outing, participants are helping directly support local kids with critical illnesses through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

“I’m a mom of four, and meeting these women, families and children that I’m actually hosting this event for just drove me even more to do better and to put it out into the community even more,” Jordan said. “I want to grow this event to whatever magnitude I can grow it, so that we can just give these children everything that they’re asking for.”

Linde’s third annual golf outing is set for August 14 at Tanglewood Golf Course in Pulaski, Pennsylvania, starting with registration and breakfast at 7 a.m.

Jordan said the golf outing is hosted at Tanglewood because they’ve consistently kept fees low for Linde, allowing the company to give as much back as possible to Make-A-Wish.

“They’re a business too, so they could charge me whatever current value is, but they’ve never done that. Our registration fees for the golfers and our sponsorships go directly back to those families,” she said.

For the families of local children diagnosed with critical illnesses, Jordan said she wants to do whatever’s possible.

“When we were trying to decide what nonprofit we wanted to support, Make-A-Wish was able to show us the statistics of the children’s prognosis before their wish,” she said. “Sometimes just the simple impact of joy changes the prognosis for some of these children.”

The first Make-A-Wish golf outing three years ago, Jordan said she was able to sponsor two families which increased to four families the second year.

By year three, she said Linde is supporting the wishes of five local children and their families.
