A patriotic First Fridays celebration, Ignite the Night and a full slate of arts, entertainment and family-friendly activities will keep Downtown Youngstown active through next week.

The America 250 First Fridays celebration is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday will transform North Phelps and West Federal streets into a walkable festival featuring live music, local vendors, historical experiences and interactive attractions as the community begins commemorating the nation’s 250th anniversary.

The event will feature a marketplace of local food vendors, retailers, artisans and nonprofits, along with community organizations offering civic engagement opportunities. Visitors also can enjoy Motown and funk music from Bopman on North Phelps Street, live music by Bustin’ Loose at The Apollo Event Center, food from Aunt Millie’s food truck and tours of The Apollo Event Center and the Ohio One Building, including an immersive speakeasy-style experience at the Ohio One.
