The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is seeking comments on proposed repairs on seven culvert locations across Summit, Portage, Stark, and Trumbull counties. Work is limited to relining the inside of the metal/concrete pipes. Other improvements include channel cleanout, installation of rock channel protection, and concrete patching.

Design of the culvert repairs is underway. Construction of this $1.4 million project is tentatively set to begin in 2027.

The following locations will require lane restrictions during construction: Interstate 480 over Indian Creek and an Unnamed Tributary of Tinkers Creek in Twinsburg Township, Summit County, I-77 over Schocalog Run in Copley Township, Summit County, I-277 over an Unnamed Tributary of the Tuscarawas River in Coventry Township, Summit County, US 224 over Potter Creek in Suffield Township, Portage County, US 62 over Unnamed Tributary of East Branch Nimishillen Creek in Nimishillen Township, Stark County, and US 422 just west of Phalanx Mills Herner Rd. in Southington Township, Trumbull County. Closer to construction, signs and portable message boards in the area and ODOT traffic alerts will announce the specific dates of the upcoming lane restrictions.

ODOT is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental, and economic impacts of this proposed action. Environmental impacts include those associated with historical archeological or architectural resources, ecological resources, hazardous materials, and/or any general concerns regarding the project. No environmental resources are expected to be impacted from project construction.

Comments concerning the project may be submitted to Robert Lang of ODOT at Robert.Lang@dot.ohio.gov or 330-786-4975. Comments can be mailed to: ODOT District 4 (Attn: Robert Lang), 2088 South Arlington Road, Akron, OH 44306.
