Mahoning Valley commercial real estate roundup: 5 properties on the market
From a corner-lot bar in Newton Falls to a 30,000-square-foot former Big Lots in Austintown, commercial properties across the Mahoning Valley are hitting the market this summer.
Here’s a look at five listings for buyers, tenants and investors to consider.
Newton Falls bar and lounge listed at $100,000
A first-floor bar with an upstairs apartment is available for $100,000 in Newton Falls.
The 3,572-square-foot building sits on a 0.4-acre corner lot at 231 North Center St. Most recently home to Chit Chat Lounge, the two-story property comes with a gravel parking lot across the street.
Originally built in 1985, the property also features an outdoor patio for patrons.
Western Fair Shopping Center offers 30,000-plus square feet in Austintown
In Austintown, more than 30,000 square feet of retail space is available for lease at a plaza anchored by Rulli Brothers Grocery Store.
Three units are open at Western Fair Shopping Center, located at the intersection of Raccoon Road and Kirk Road:
- Unit 4341, the former Big Lots space, offers 30,000 square feet starting at $4 per square foot.
- Unit 4325, most recently a PMG Chocolatier shop, has 7,000 square feet available starting at $6 per square foot.
- Unit 4320 offers 6,720 square feet at $6 per square foot before utilities.

The industrial facility at 557 McClurg Road offers 18,955 square feet on 1.03 acres. Most recently home to the George A. Mitchell Company, the building was first constructed in 1968 and features 18-foot ceilings in the warehouse and two drive-in doors.
Founded in 1963, the George A. Mitchell Company produced hydraulic push pointers designed to hold tubes in place and cold-forming machines to reshape material. In 2025, all of the company’s assets were acquired by Taylor-Winfield Technologies Inc. in Youngstown, which specializes in custom material joining, induction heating and automation solutions.

Former CheckSmart space available near Southern Park Mall
A former loan office across from Southern Park Mall in Boardman will be available for lease in September.
According to Yelp, CheckSmart on U.S. 224 in Boardman is permanently closed. The 1,300-square-foot glass storefront at 110 Boardman Poland Road features front-door parking.
The plaza sits close to Market Street on a stretch that sees an average of 29,795 commuters driving by each day, according to online listings.
Businesses leasing the space would join Lover’s Lane, Youngstown Sportscards and Boost Mobile at the plaza.
Poland Village office building listed for $175,000
An office building at 15 East McKinley Way in the center of Poland Village is available to purchase for $175,000.
The 780-square-foot building sits on 0.24 acres across from Peterson Park, close to Walgreens and Chase Bank, with a shared ingress and egress.
According to Mahoning County Auditor’s records, the building was originally a dwelling that was converted into a retail property. It dates to 1930, with renovations completed in 1979.
