Tim McNeil has been hired as the new Coordinator of Athletics for the Diocese of Youngstown. His first day was July 8.

McNeil spent the previous two decades as head coach for the Westminster men’s and women’s cross country and track & field programs. He led the Titans to 16 Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships. McNeil is a 1996 graduate of Westminster, where he excelled in track and field as well as football. In 2004 he earned a master’s degree in education from Westminster and is also a member of the Titan Sports Hall of Fame.

McNeil is a native of Mineral Ridge, and a 1992 graduate of Warren John F. Kennedy Catholic School. He spent six years as the Eagles head boys and girls track and field coach and during that time he was also assistant principal.

“I am thrilled to be working with the coaches and administrators of all our schools in the Diocese of Youngstown to unify all the great athletic opportunities our Student-Athletes currently have. Where those opportunities are lacking, this office will provide a pathway,” said McNeil.

Superintendent of Catholic Schools Dr. Steven Jones said he is excited to have McNeil join the staff.

“He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in building excellent athletic programs, and his commitment to ensuring that our student athletes have the best experience possible is going to enhance the overall education our students receive,” he said.
