This mid-century modern home for sale will have you saying ‘Oh. My. Gah.’ Take a look
A fabulous example of what mid-century modern architecture is supposed to look like has landed on the market in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for $825,000, and its drool-worthy interior and exterior has a popular real estate social media page doing back flips.
The four-bedroom, three-bathroom residence was built in 1955 and designed by Carl Graffunder, an architect who was “influenced” by Frank Lloyd Wright, the listing on Zillow.com says.
Which means? It looks like something right out of “Mad Men.”
“This magnificent home boasts soaring post-and-beam ceilings clad with pecky cypress and paired with unique tile combinations throughout,” the listing describes. “Floor to ceiling windows offer expansive views of Diamond Lake opening up to a cantilevered deck for morning coffee or evening cocktails.”
Per the photos, other features in and around the 3,242-square-foot home include:
Large patio
Fireplaces
Open floor plan
Indoor shuffleboard court
The home caught the attention of Zillow Gone Wild, a Facebook and Twitter account that highlights unique house listings. And folks were impressed by the estate’s “wow” factor.
“I am in love with this mid century wonder,” one person said. “So much so that I could actually live with the six dozen different tile patterns! I love the flow of light and ambiance.”
“I’m obsessed,” another gushed.
“In fact it is the very definition of Mid Century Modern,” someone noted. “Love the natural light through the house and the beautiful outdoor spaces.“
“If I lived in a house like this, I’d never go outside,” one person said.
