Remarkable earthship featured on TikTok is surrounded by… nothing. Take a look
A downright stunning earthship in Tres Piedras, New Mexico, is giving a new meaning to “off-grid” – and is listed for $299,500 for anyone who is looking to get away from the rest of the world.
The studio, one-bathroom home even managed to charm a popular TikTok page.
And yes, it has everything anyone could need to live comfortably in the desert.
“You have a Combo bedroom/living room with queen murphy bed, walk-in closet, a full bathroom, and a full kitchen,” the listing on Realtor.com says. “Close to Taos and the Ski Valley, with big sky nights and open air, clear sky days.”
And the possibilities to expand onto the property are endless.
“Amazing layout, and minimalist configuration that contributes to the overall efficiency and utility of the property,” the listing describes. “Your landscaping can be passively irrigated with graywater. Plant low water use trees, and when mature you have additional shade and screening from adjacent properties.”
The 710-square-foot residence was featured on the popular TikTok page “Houses that are Cool,” in their segment “25 Days of Cheap Cool Houses.”
“DAY 5: cheapest earthship on the market right now!” the creator said. “Part of a little earthship community in New Mexico, near Taos.”
Earthships – which are “self-sufficient, autonomous building(s) designed to utilize local and recycled materials,” according to The Spruce – have become pretty hot on the real estate market this year and have been popping up around the Land of Enchantment. Like this earthship-inspired house that was listed for $3.47 million in Santa Fe and this peaceful home also in Tres Piedras that is listed for $911,997, McClatchy News previously reported.
Currently, the house is listed as “pending.”
Tres Piedras is about 30 miles northwest of Taos.
