A sweet dog in Pennsylvania is known for her abundance of patience after going without a home for so long.

Lily, a 5-year-old terrier-pitbull mix, was rescued by the Pennsylvania SPCA three years ago — over 1,165 days — from a daunting life. However, she hasn’t let it affect her outlook, the shelter said in an Aug. 25 Facebook post.

“Three years ago, Lily was rescued from a life of cruelty, but you’d never guess this was her past,” the post said. “To this day, she wakes up grateful for a second chance. She will play with her favorite stuffy toys for hours and is eager to be outside (with) her friends who have taught her so much.”

According to her pet profile on PSPCA, the joyful dog has plenty of hobbies, which include training and toys.

“Lily’s absolute favorite thing in the world is STUFFY TOYS! She goes absolutely bonkers for them, and will do just about anything to get her paws on one,” her profile says.

“It’s adorable to watch her cuddle up with her favorite squeaky friend, and she’ll play with it for hours on end. When she’s not busy with her stuffies, Lily loves spending time with her volunteer friends. She thrives on training sessions, learning new tricks and commands, and showing off her skills.”

Lily would do best in a household where she’s the only pet, the Facebook post said.

“Lily’s journey has been filled with ups and downs, yet she brings so much joy to every single heart she encounters. Now she is ready to finally leave shelter life behind and find a family who will cherish her for the beautiful soul she is,” the post finished.
