Diva cat up for adoption in Texas is a ‘work of art.’ You can look - but don’t touch

A cat in Texas is ready for her close-up — but not too close — with a new family who will appreciate her high-maintenance diva ways.

Two-year-old Abby is beautiful and she knows it, with her bright green eyes and sleekness, and the South Plains Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) refers to her as “Lubbock’s hottest cat shaped decor!”

“My name is Abby, and I am a work of art,” the shelter said in a Jan. 6 Facebook post. “I want everyone to look at me, but look with your eyes only. I demand lots of treats, and I love to take up space.”

But if you’re dead set on a lot of purring while giving Abby some ear scratches, you’re a little out of luck.

“I’m not big on getting pet, but you can call yourself my friend if you feed me,” the shelter said.

In true prima donna fashion, she relishes in her independent nature.

“I’m not really shy, but I mostly keep to myself. I love my sister Sweet Pea, and I’m great with other cats. Dogs are fine, too, but kids are not my thing. I’m all about treats, snacks, and enjoying being me. I’m a top notch hunter and great friend to my fellow felines,” the shelter noted.

Abby is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations, microchipped, and housetrained, according to her pet profile.

For more information on Abby or other adoptable pets, visit the shelter’s website.
