Libraries, League of Women Voters to host watch parties for Ohio primary debates
The Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County and the League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown are partnering to host watch parties for the upcoming Ohio gubernatorial and U.S. Senate primary debates.
Representatives from the League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown will explain the debate process and answer questions from participants ahead of the debates, a news release states. The debates will then stream live.
The debate watch parties and pre-debate presentations will be held at the following locations:
- U.S. Senate Democratic primary debate presentation and watch party: March 28 at Newport Library, 3730 Market St., Youngstown. The presentation will begin at 11 a.m. The debate will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- U.S. Senate Republican primary debate presentation and watch party: March 28 at Poland Library, 311 S. Main St., Poland. The presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. The debate will be from 7 to 8 p.m.
- Ohio gubernatorial Democratic primary debate presentation and watch party: March 29 at Campbell Library (located inside the Community Literacy Workforce and Cultural Center), 436 Struthers-Coitsville Road, Lowellville. The presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. The debate will be from 7 to 8 p.m.
Ohioans can submit questions to the Ohio Debate Commission that could be asked during the debates. For more information, visit the Ohio Debate Commission’s website.
Library patrons can register to vote at library locations, the release states. The last day to register to vote in the Ohio primary election is April 4.
