Dec. 29, 1937 — Sept. 15, 2020 (age 82)

CHAMPION — Ida Mae Switter, 82, passed away on Tuesday (Sept. 15) at Trumbull Regional Medical Center.

She was born on Dec. 29, 1937, in Warren, the daughter of Andrew and Ida Urchek.

She was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School.

She married Gerald Switter on Sept. 7, 1957. He passed away on Nov. 25, 1994.

Ida retired in July 2007 from the Associated School Employees Credit Union (formerly the Copperweld Credit Union) as a bookkeeper after 37 years.

Ida was a member of St. William Church in Champion and the women's guild. She also belonged to SCOPE. She enjoyed exercising, helping her daughter with crafts shows and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her two children Andrea (Edward) Runyan of Bazetta and Bradley Switter of Kailua, Hawaii; and grandchildren Erica Runyan, Gerald Runyan and Sakura Nakagawa-Switter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gerald "Jerry" Switter; and infant sons Christopher and Edward.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday (Sept. 20) from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, and on Monday (Sept. 21) from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. William Church, 5411 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michael Balash officiating.

Those attending the calling hours are encouraged to wear a mask and practice social distancing.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Ida Mae's name to St. William Church.
