CANFIELD — Mark S. Eckert, 61, of Canfield passed away Sunday, March 29, at Cleveland Clinic. Mark was born Dec. 16, 1958, a son of Melvin and Margaret (Wright) Eckert. Mark was a lifelong area resident who graduated from Austintown Fitch in 1977 and attended Youngstown State University for business administration and biology. Mark worked for the family business, Eckert's Interiors, as vice president for 35 years. Eckert's was in business for nearly 100 years before closing in 2010.

After the closing of Eckert's Interiors, Mark went on to work at The Vindicator, heading up its digital sales department. He then worked for an online publication as a sales executive. Besides his father, Melvin Eckert, he leaves his wife of 40 years, the former Susan Copp; his children, Zachary and Kelsey; and his sister, Michele (Jim) Dunn. Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret "Peggie," and daughter, Rachael Suzanne.

Due to current circumstances around social distancing, there will be private services for the family. A public celebration of Mark's life will be planned for a later date.
