It’s time to vote for Mahoning Valley football Athlete of the Week for September 11
The Mahoning Valley was spotted with big wins, exciting games and huge performances in week four.
Established stars and rising talents came up big in key moments around the region. Now is your chance to vote for the best showing of the week.
This week players are nominated from Poland, Austintown FItch, Niles, South Range, Brookfield and Jackson-Milton.
This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like until voting ends at noon on Friday, September 15, at mahoningmatters.com.

Get to know the nominees here:
- Cole Fulton: scored on a 41-yard touchdown to lead Poland to a 10-7 win over Canfield.
- Dan Evans III: had an interception and four tackles to lead Austintown Fitch past St. Ignatius 24-21 in double overtime.
- Antuan Gardner: had 153 rushing yards on 25 carries and three receptions for 108 yards to lead Niles to a 27-6 win over Hubbard.
- Blake Ewert: scored two early touchdowns to pace South Range past Lakeview 28-21.
- Rico Smith: ran for 163 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries to lead Brookfield past Champion 40-13.
- Samuel Conn: kicked a field goal with one second remaining to lead Jackson-Milton past Mineral Ridge 23-20.
