Jason Dukes of Struthers wins Mahoning Valley football Athlete of the Week for Oct. 16
Jason Dukes of Struthers won Week 9 of the Mahoning Matters football Athlete of the Week contest.
He ran for two touchdowns and intercepted a pass to lead Struthers past Niles, 21-0.
Other nominees included:
Kasen Kosek: Ran for two touchdowns to lead Springfield past McDonald 28-7.
Luke Courtney: Ran for two touchdowns and kicked a field goal to lead United past Valley Christian, 38-6.
Michael Ballone: Threw for two touchdowns to lead Lowellville past Waterloo, 40-8.
Deon’Dray Richard: The freshman ran for 115 yards and two touchdowns to lead Fitch past Boardman, 36-0.
Christian Lynch: Ran for 116 yards and two touchdowns to lead Ursuline past Youngstown Chaney, 32-16.
Beau Alazaus: Completed 22-of-28 passes for 366 yards and four touchdowns to lead West Branch past Carrollton, 49-14.
Ryan Exline: Scored three touchdowns to lead Southern past Lisbon, 42-14.
Blake Ewert: Scored two touchdowns to lead South Range past Louisville, 38-8.
Dawaun Moody: Threw for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead Liberty past Champion, 49-0.
Tuff McConahy: Threw for two touchdowns to lead Girard past Hubbard, 21-14.
Ashton O’Brien: Threw for four touchdowns and ran for another to lead Cardinal Mooney past East, 48-18.
