Youngstown Ursuline maintained its first-place standing in this week’s Mahoning Matters Super 7 boys’ basketball poll.

Ursuline

Youngstown Ursuline posted a pair of wins last week as the Irish routed South Range 72-51 and recorded a 43-39 triumph over arch-rival Cardinal Mooney.

The Irish are 14-3 on the season and are averaging 69.4 points-per-game.

East Liverpool

East Liverpool continues to pile up wins and remains No. 2 in this week’s poll.

Head coach Nate Conley’s Potters are 16-4 on the season and are coming off an 80-68 triumph over arch-rival Beaver Local in a OVAC consolation game last Friday evening.

Canfield

The Canfield Cardinals, winners of seven straight games, jump to No. 3 in this week’s poll.

The Cardinals of head coach John Cullen defeated Howland (46-36) and Poland (42-34) in the past week.

West Branch

West Branch jumps into the poll at No. 4 this week.

The Warriors are 16-3 on the season and have won four games in a row, including wins over Youngstown East (73-71 in OT) and arch-rival Salem (59-37) last week.

Lisbon

The Lisbon Blue Devils hold down the No. 5 spot.

Lisbon is 16-3 on the campaign and routed the United Golden Eagles 66-33 in its most recent Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference game.

LaBrae

The LaBrae Vikings jump up to No. 6 in this week’s poll.

The Vikings are 17-2 on the season and have won seven straight games, including their 82-55 rout of Garrettsville Garfield in its most recent outing.

Cardinal Mooney

The Cardinal Mooney Cardinals round out this week’s Super 7 poll at No. 7.

The Cardinals are 14-5 and have won six of their past seven games. Their most recent game was a close four-point setback to Ursuline, our No. 1-ranked team.
