Fever's Aliyah Boston Shares Update on Unfortunate Offseason Injury
After a 2025 campaign that saw her average 15.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.2 steals, Aliyah Boston followed it up with an even more eventful offseason.
The Indiana Fever star was initially selected to be part of the Team USA roster for the FIBA Women's World Cup Qualifying Tournament. Aside from that, she also played in the 3-on-3 women's basketball league Unrivaled, during which she dominated and was named the Defensive Player of the Year.
Unfortunately, Boston suffered an injury before the start of the Unrivaled playoffs. Her team, Phantom BC, called it a right lower extremity injury, which caused her to miss the entire postseason.
Due to her health setback, Boston was also removed from the Team USA lineup and was replaced by Monique Billings.
On Sunday, the Fever started their training camp, with Boston a full participant. The 24-year-old forward also addressed the injury she sustained during the offseason and highlighted her current status.
"I just had a lower leg injury, and right now I'm feeling good to go," Boston stated, per Tony East of The IX Sports. "Ready to get to work."
It's certainly encouraging to see Boston back to full health following her concerning injury. She's a key cog for a Fever team that made it all the way to the WNBA semifinals in 2025, and she's expected to play a bigger role for Indiana in its bid to contend for the championship in the 2026 season.
The Fever showed their belief in Boston by signing her to a four-year, $6.3 million deal, the largest contract in league history to date. That said, expectations are high for her to live up to her massive salary.
