MLB Home Run Predictions Today: HR Prop Bets for Friday, May 8
It's "Friday Fly Ball Frenzy," and the long-ball matchups are lining up all over this slate. Several vulnerable pitchers are taking the mound, and the power bats have the splits and trends working in their favor for a potentially huge night at the plate.
We have Adley Rutschman in a great matchup against a pitcher struggling badly with right-handed bats, Nathaniel Lowe facing a homer-prone arm getting crushed by lefties, and Juan Soto stepping into a matchup he's already taken deep multiple times. If you're chasing home run props Friday night, these are bats built to leave the yard.

Best Home Run Props Today
Adley Rutschman Home Run Bet (+398)
Jacob Lopez has struggled this season with a 6.60 ERA and has been especially vulnerable to right-handed bats, allowing five of his six home runs to that side while opponents are hitting .310 against him. His low ground-ball rate also points to plenty of balls getting lifted in the air. Rutschman has been swinging it well, batting .313 with improved power metrics and four home runs already this season. With his switch-hitting profile and Lopez's fly-ball tendencies, this is a strong setup for Rutschman to leave the yard.
Nathaniel Lowe Home Run Bet (+370)
Matt Burrows has struggled badly with a 5.97 ERA and has already allowed eight home runs this season, including five over his last four starts. Left-handed hitters have done the most damage, batting .341 against him with six of those home runs. Lowe has crushed right-handed pitching all season, with all six of his home runs coming in those matchups while hitting .308 with a huge slugging percentage. Add in Lowe's career-best hard-hit numbers, and this is a strong power spot for him Friday.
Juan Soto Home Run Bet (+497)
Ryne Nelson enters with a 6.61 ERA and continues to give up plenty of fly balls, a dangerous combination against a hitter like Soto. Left-handed batters have already taken Nelson deep four times this season, and Soto has homered off him twice in their career meetings. Soto has also crushed right-handed pitching this season, batting .367 with a .612 slugging percentage. With Nelson relying heavily on a fly-ball-inducing fastball, this is a prime setup for Soto to leave the yard again.
