NFL Schedule Announce Features Tom Brady Returning to New England
Tom Brady officially retired from the NFL in 2023 following a 23-year career split between the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
There’s no sign that he’ll ever put a uniform on again and play in the NFL, but Brady is still a force in the league.
The 48-year-old is a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, and he also provides analysis for Fox Sport during NFL games.
This November, Brady will return to the familiar territory of Foxborough, Mass., this time as a Fox Sports broadcaster. Looking at the just-released Patriots 2026 schedule, the team has a Week 9 matchup against the Green Bay Packers scheduled for No. 8 at 4:25 p.m. ET, and it will air on Fox.
Brady and his play-by-play partner Kevin Burkhardt are slated to cover the game.
“Tom Brady will return to New England for the first time as a broadcaster in Week 9 when the Packers take on the Patriots on FOX,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter shared on X after the NFL schedule release.

It’s a moment in NFL history, because the appearance will mark the first time Brady will announce a game that the Patriots will play in. So, he’ll have to be neutral, which shouldn’t be a problem given how he’s carried himself through his first two seasons with Fox.
Ahead of the Seattle Seahawks beating the Patriots in Super Bowl LX, Brady was asked who he’d be cheering for in the matchup. He said that he had “no dog in the fight,” adding, “may the best team win.” So, he’s been neutral before.
Whether or not you’re a Patriots or Brady fan, it’ll be interesting to see how he handles the emotions that could come flooding back when he steps into that stadium and gets ready to take the mic.
