Video: Adam Silver Gets Booed At Start Of 2026 NBA Draft
Adam Silver didn't exactly receive a warm welcome at the 2026 NBA Draft.
Before the first round of the draft officially started at the Barclays Center, fans booed Silver as he was approaching the stage. It was a rough scene for the league's commissioner, but it wasn't exactly a huge surprise.
Fans have made it known over the years that they're not fond of Silver's work. Not only are they against the in-season tournament, they believe the league's product has become watered down over the years due to flopping.
With that being said, a solid portion of the NBA community enjoyed hearing Silver get booed.
"Adam Silver was introduced to thunderous BOOS," one fan commented.
"Nothing says "The NBA Draft has started" quite like Adam Silver getting boo'd into oblivion," another person said.
"Very necessary boos for Adam Silver," a social media user wrote.
The draft is loaded with talent.
The Washington Wizards used the No. 1 pick on BYU forward AJ Dybantsa. He was excellent as a freshman, averaging 25.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.
A few moments later, the Utah Jazz selected Kansas star Darryn Peterson with the second pick. Although there are concerns about his durability, his natural talent is undeniable.
Only time will tell if this year's draft lives up to the hype.
