NRFI, YRFI MLB Bets Today: Best First-Inning Predictions for Tuesday, July 14
The 2025 MLB All-Star Game ended in dramatic fashion with the first swing-off. Philadelphia Phillies DH Kyle Schwarber hit all three of his swings over the fence, and he's leading off for the NL in this year's edition of the All-Star Game. He'll face Toronto Blue Jays RHP Dylan Cease, who is 6-4 with a 2.56 ERA. Starting for the NL is Phillies LHP Cristopher Sanchez, who is 11-4 with a 2.62 ERA.
Last year's All-Star Game cashed a YRFI. What are we looking for this season?

Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today
American League All-Stars at National League All-Stars YRFI (-105)
Cease has really turned it around at age 30 after a down year in San Diego in 2025. His FIP is a career-low 2.18, and the closest one was 3.10. He also has a career-high 13.5 K/9. He can be mortal in the first, though. His 3.18 ERA in the first is the third-highest of any inning. His .231 opponent batting average is also the second-highest. He also has the disadvantage that a lot of these hitters have faced him when he was with San Diego. Sanchez has also had issues in the first of late. Over his last four starts, he was scored on in two of them, and they were ugly. He allowed six runs and four runs in those first frames. His first-inning ERA sits at 6.30, and hitters are raking to a .301 tune against him. We like the scoring to start early with a YRFI.
What Does NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, a run will be scored in the first inning. It doesn't matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
