Niles police opening new substation at Eastwood Mall
Shoppers will soon see more Niles police officers in and around the Eastwood Mall Complex, as their help and new office will soon be just around the corner in the food court.
According to Joe Bell, director of corporate communications for the Cafaro Company, the Eastwood Mall Complex has always been a busy, integral part of the City of Niles.
For that reason, the city police department is about to establish a new presence inside the mall.
The 1,112-square-foot space for the new office will give officers a high-visibility location which will enhance their ability to interact with the public.
It’ll also be a convenient office space for patrol officers to gather and complete reports.
The new Niles Police Department substation will officially open during a public ceremony at 11 a.m. on Friday in the food court area.
The mall is located at 5555 Youngstown-Warren Road; owned and managed by Cafaro-affiliated companies, based in Niles.
