A Southern-style Mahoning Valley restaurant is making some awesome changes and additions
It’s been over a year since Youngstown first got a taste of Savannah Joe’s southern-style cuisine, and now the owners of the restaurant are ringing in the new year with extended hours and an updated menu.
“We are excited that Savanna Joe’s is officially now open Monday through Sunday with our new menu featuring incredible new items that you’ve got to try,” said Hope Bowers at Savannah Joe’s.
Since their launch in 2023, Bowers said the Mahoning Valley community has been supportive and encouraging.
“We have steady customers that stop in weekly for our desserts and a meal or just to simply keep us encouraged. Our customers have been a great inspiration to us and they keep us going,” she said. “We received several requests from our customers that have special occasions, meetings or just have a craving for our famous fried fish on a Monday, to open on Monday and Tuesdays. We decided to oblige and add some new and fresh items to the menu.”
Starting this month, customers can visit Savannah Joe’s seven days a week at 2915 Glenwood Ave. in Youngstown.
Savannah Joe’s is now open from noon - 6 p.m. on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, and 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Wednesday through Saturday.
“Our food is made from scratch using my family recipes. We are up at 4 a.m. daily baking the deserts, peeling potatoes and yams, cooking greens and putting the ribs on. We pride ourselves in offering a real home cooked meal,” said Bowers.
Bowers recommends trying the new combo meals on the menu, with new additions like hot honey shrimp, chicken alfredo, mushroom swiss burger, the Georgia Reuben and the Southwest Reuben.
For upcoming events in 2025, Savannah Joe’s is going to start offering catering.
“When you are hosting a business meeting, want to bring dinner for your child’s athletic team, church event, birthday party, graduation or family event, Savannah Joe’s has you covered. Keep up with us on Instagram and Facebook for discounts,” she said. “We plan to be visible during some of Youngstown’s favorite outdoor events.“
