Meet a local family making sweet and savory crepes at new restaurant in Campbell
Mahoning Valley residents traveling through Campbell will want to make a stop at a new unique eatery open for business on McCartney Road.
Maria Papavasilis and Derrick May met while working in the local food service industry.
The couple opened their first business, 8 o’Crêpe, the day after Christmas in 2024.
Papavasilis is originally from Greece and moved to Ohio when she was a freshman in high school.
“It was always a dream of ours to have a family business, and we have both been cooking since we were young, so that was definitely a passion we’ve had,” Papavasilis said. “I also love making crepes. His passion is cooking, he’s a savory person. We combined everything we knew and came up with this idea.”
The 8 o’Crêpe menu includes coffee, hot chocolate, milkshakes, breakfast crepes, sweet stuffed bites of crepe called sushi crepe and freshly-made baklava.
“People should keep an eye on our savory crepes, that’s something we’re adding to the menu,” she said. “We also added a blueberry cheesecake crepe. I change the menus on there so they’re always gonna match the menus we have in here as well. You can always check Facebook and Google.”
8 o’Crêpe is open from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. every day of the week at 669 McCartney Road in Campbell.
“The support has been amazing,” she said. “We’re getting customers from Campbell, Canfield, Boardman and all over the area. It’s really nice.”
