Dollar store opens doors inside former Sparkle Market in Trumbull County

Earlier in the year, city council members suspended a citywide moratorium on the number of dollar stores allowed to open in Niles in favor of turning a shuttered market into something new.

By late summer, officials approved the plans to turn the former Sparkle Market building on North Main Street in Niles into a Dollar Tree.

Now the Dollar Tree is open from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Sunday at 140 N Main St. in Niles.

Customers are able to shop for grocery items, household goods, health and beauty supplies, holiday cards and more.

“The remodeled building looks great, and the staff couldn’t have been more pleasant... many of whom are Niles residents themselves,” Niles city councilman Jimmy Julian wrote online.

Dollar Tree operates more than 9,000 stores and 18 distribution centers across the U.S. and Canada.
