West Branch artists recognized at northeastern Ohio scholastic art exhibition

Artists from West Branch High School were recently recognized at the Northeastern Ohio Scholastic Art Awards Ceremony at Youngstown State University’s Ford Theater.

The ceremony featured awards given to students who received Gold and Silver Key awards for their art displayed in the Northeastern Ohio Scholastic Art Exhibition. Two artworks on display from West Branch students received Gold Key awards, and seven received Honorable Mentions.

Throughout January, the exhibition featured artwork from middle and high school students from Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana, and Ashtabula counties.

West Branch students who received awards for their artwork at the exhibition include:

* Jocelyn Carte: Honorable Mention - painting

* Kyla Clapper: Honorable Mention - painting

* Amelia Corallo: Honorable Mention - drawing

* Declan Gruver: Honorable Mention - graphic design.

* Marissa Mountz: Gold Key - painting

* Brynn Smith: Gold Key - colored pencil drawing and Honorable Mention - painting

* Grace Vence: two Honorable Mentions - painting
