Youngstown news anchor announces career change
Chelsea Spears has spent the last six years bringing morning news to Youngstown residents.
Spears was named Mahoning Valley’s “Inspirational Person of the Year” and nominated for an Emmy for Best Daytime Newscast.
Now she’s transitioning from broadcast journalism into the marketing business.
What will Chelsea Spears do next?
Spears will be a digital marketing and communications strategist at Farmers National Bank.
She’s looking forward to continuing to serve the Mahoning County community.
“I’m so excited to continue my life and career in the Mahoning Valley, just in a different capacity,” Spears said. “I’ve loved helping viewers wake up every morning for almost six years, but I’m now ready to sleep in past 3 a.m. and have a normal schedule with holidays off. I’m thrilled that I can keep serving the Valley in my new role at Farmers National Bank in Canfield as part of the marketing team.”
Chelsea Spears is active in the Mahoning Valley community
Spears spent much of her off-camera time serving the community by volunteering with organizations like the American Heart Association, Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County, Project MKC, Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley, Red Cross, Salvation Army and Angels for Easter Seals.
“We are thrilled to have Chelsea join our Marketing team. Her broadcast experience and work in the community will be great assets to Farmers,” said Amber Wallace, Executive Vice President, Chief Retail and Marketing Officer for Farmers National Bank.
Farmers National Bank is headquartered in Canfield but has locations throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania.
