Youngstown-Warren Chamber of Commerce reports big business, with even more jobs on the way
Guy Coviello, president & CEO of the Youngstown-Warren Chamber of Commerce, sits down with Editor Chris Pugh and reporter Kelcey Norris to discuss new business coming to the Mahoning Valley.
Coviello shared that it’s an exciting and fast-moving time to work in manufacturing in the Mahoning Valley as the Youngstown-Warren Chamber of Commerce is working to make new electric vehicle manufacturing partnerships with companies.
He said they’re working with companies like Intel chip manufacturing and their supplies and existing projects like FoxConn, Altium Cells, and the Trumbull Energy Center. Coviello told us the Trumbull Energy Center is a billion-dollar project breaking ground on April 25.
Coviello discussed the Valley’s readiness to build and give people new, high-paying electric vehicle chip manufacturing jobs. While the city is preparing land for business development, they’re also trying to grow the population and retain the current workforce. During the interview, he said thousands of jobs are ready to be filled, and thousands more are expected by 2026, like site construction and manufacturing jobs.
