Meijer looking at Austintown location for new store

Days after announcing the May opening of its Warren location, Meijer has confirmed interest in expanding in the Mahoning Valley.

An Austintown location is being considered and could open as early as 2025 as long the place receives final site approval.

“We are interested in moving forward with the Austintown location for a Meijer Supercenter,” Meijer External Communications Manager Erin Cataldo said. “Once we have final site plan approval, we’ll begin planning the store construction process. If all plans are approved and we move forward, the earliest that location would open would be 2025.”

WFMJ reported blueprints from the Austintown Zoning Department indicate that the 160,000 square-foot site is planned to be located at 5680 Mahoning Avenue.
