$1.18 million project renovating classrooms at Youngstown State University

One Youngstown State University building called Moser Hall houses students pursuing anything and everything STEM.

The Rayen School of Engineering classes are located inside Moser Hall, a 200-seat Schwebel Auditorium and the Clarence R. Smith Mineral Museum.

Built in 1967, it hasn’t seen significant improvements to its 60 classrooms and laboratories for the last several years.

State Rep. Al Cutrona from Canfield announced Monday the State Controlling Board approved $1.18 million for upcoming renovations for YSU’s Moser Hall.

“I supported and advocated for this funding to the Valley,” Cutrona said. “We must invest in our community and education and I’m honored to support $1.18 million for our Valley’s future.”

According to Cutrona, the work will include upgrades to the heavily utilized auditorium and additional classrooms.
