Over 60 volunteers to work on modifying toy cars for kids with disabilities this weekend
Over 60 people will spend the weekend in Canfield modifying power wheel toy cars for children with mobility impairments.
Watch: Children receive modified toy cars fit for their needs
Local professionals and Mahoning County Career & Technical Center students are participating in the eighth annual Go Baby Go Youngstown event.
Volunteer electricians will modify the wiring for 22 toy cars. At the same time, experts in physical and occupational therapists will help with seating modifications, getting everything ready for children to ride in safely.
Students from MCCTC are designing license plates and decals and learning from professionals how to assemble the cars.

Children will “drive” their jeep before taking it home with them.
It’s scheduled for 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the MCCTC, 7300 N. Palmyra Road in Canfield.

According to the Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio, providing an adapted ride-on vehicle costs approximately $400, with sponsorship from The Magic of Micahel Foundation.
It’s the sixth year the foundation has supported the event at MCCTC.
