Howland police collecting food during Trumbull community event this Saturday

Leaders in the Howland Police Department are combining two community initiatives into one day to meet the needs of more residents.

The department will host a Protect-N-Shred and Fill the Cruiser Day at the Howland SCOPE Center from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.

You won’t have to leave your car for the event. Bring any noncommercial or business-related paper ready to be shredded and recycled.

Howland Police Department collecting donations for Bolindale Food Pantry

The Howland Police Department also asks people to bring food donations and non-perishable goods to the event to fill the cruiser for Bolindale Food Pantry.

All of the donations will be given to the food pantry.

The officers ask participants to wait in their cars and someone will come to take the paper to shred and the non-perishable goods to donate.

The Howland SCOPE Center is located at 8273 High St. NE in Warren.
