One person was injured in an apartment fire early Friday morning in Youngstown.

According to Charles Hodge, the chief fire investigator, it continued to be a busy morning for the firefighters on call.

Crews first responded around 6:30 a.m. to an apartment in the 300 block of Broadway Avenue in Youngstown.

According to local reports, the building is part of Broadway Park Apartments.

Emergency crews transported one man to the hospital in stable condition.

His current status is unknown at this time, according to Hodge, who is waiting to hear back from the hospital.

Then, shortly before 8 a.m., they were called to the scene of a possibly occupied structure on fire.

Crews raced to put out the fire in the 300 block of Alameda Avenue in North Heights near Crandall Park.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but believed to have started on the porch.

Hodge could not confirm at this point if anyone was inside the structure during the fire.
