Honoring the local legacy of Ernie Hall at museum ribbon-cutting in Warren
Ridgeview Tours and the Ernie Hall Aviation Museum are partnering with Trumbull Tourism to host a ribbon-cutting event to showcase exhibits at the museum at 10 a.m. this Friday.
The Ernie Hall Aviation Museum is a tribute to local pioneers and inventors like Warren native Ernie Hall, who contributed to the aviation industry through his career as a flight instructor.
“We are very excited to announce the unveiling of our new minibus to promote tours in Trumbull County and Northeast Ohio. Our first group on the new bus to visit Trumbull County is from the Euclid Senior Centers,” said Sharon Grover, owner of Ridgeview Tours. “We appreciate Trumbull County Commissioner’s support of this investment in our local tourism economy.”
Honoring Ernie Hall
Founded in 2015 by William Griffin, the museum showcases how Hall instructed over 6,000 pilots from 1915 until he died in 1972.
These pilots flew in the military during World War I and II.
Hall was born in Pennsylvania but operated his flight training school from a hangar in Warren after receiving training from pioneers like the Wright Brothers.
Inside the museum, you’ll see Hall’s actual 1947 Piper PA-12 Super Cruiser and learn about the museum’s essential fundraising show in August, “Wings and Wheels.”
Learn more about Griffin and Hall by visiting the museum’s website.
National Travel and Tourism Week
It’s happening during the 40th anniversary of National Travel and Tourism Week, with the theme of traveling forward into future advancements.
The public is invited to head to Warren for the ribbon cutting at 4033 North River Road.
“Travel is at the heart of our region, powering a strong U.S. economy, creating jobs, and strengthening our community’s culture and identity,” said Beth Kotwis Carmichael, executive director of Trumbull County Tourism. “We are proud to celebrate all that travel does for our community now and all that it will contribute in the future.”
