$6,000 raised at drag show for Youngstown teacher with Stage 4 cancer

About 100 people gathered Saturday for a spaghetti and drag fundraiser to raise funds for a teacher at Rayen Early College.

Heather Smith said $6,000 was raised for Mary Hall, recently diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer, and four drag queens performed at Turning Point in Poland.

Smith organized the event to help Hall with her medical expenses.

“We would like to raise $10,000 for her,” Smith said.

She added that funds continue to be raised for Hall through a GoFundMe page.
