Columbiana County Health District to hold PSA screening

The Columbiana County Health District will hold a PSA screening clinic June 6 at the office, located at 7360 Ohio 45, Lisbon.

This clinic is by appointment only.

There will be no charge for residents of the General Health District to be screened. Those attending who live outside of the General Health District (Salem and East Liverpool Cities) or outside of Columbiana County will be charged $25, which must be paid in cash, for the PSA screening service.

The American Cancer Society recommends an annual PSA screening for men over age 50. Because African-American men have a higher risk of prostate cancer, it is recommended they begin having the screenings at age 45. Men who have a family history for prostate cancer also should begin the screenings at age 45.
