Is Ohio fun? New report says the Buckeye State is No. 13 in the U.S.

Are you taking a trip this summer or planning a staycation?

The personal finance website WalletHub wants to find out which states are the most fun to visit for families choosing where to spend their summer break.

WalletHub analysts looked at data in 26 key “fun” categories for each state to determine which states are the most enjoyable to visit.

These include most attractions and restaurants per capita, average movie costs, accessibility of national parks, and options for nightlife in each state, to name a few.

How did Ohio rank?

According to their study’s results, Ohio ranked 13th out of 50 states for most enjoyable to visit.

Here’s a breakdown of Ohio’s highest rankings in all 26 key categories:

  • No. 8 most golf courses and country clubs
  • No. 11 most movie theaters
  • No. 13 most fitness centers
  • No. 14 most restaurants
  • No. 21 most amusement parks
  • No. 22 largest variety of arts, entertainment, and recreation establishments
  • No. 24 most performing arts theaters
  • No. 28 most casinos

Which states are the most or least fun?

California is the most fun state to visit, followed by Florida and Nevada.

The least entertaining state to visit is Mississippi, according to WalletHub.
