Headed out? Here are ODOT’s construction projects this week in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties

Drivers in Trumbull, Columbiana and Mahoning counties will continue to be impacted by these Ohio Department of Transportation construction projects.

Here’s what we know before traveling on interstates through the Mahoning Valley:

Mahoning County

Interstate 680 lighting improvements in Youngstown

Impact on drivers: Watch for lane restrictions on I-680 between Indianola Avenue and Shirley Road.

Estimated completion: mid-November 2023

Interstate 76 & Bailey Road interchange improvements, Jackson Township



Impact on drivers: Watch for lane restrictions on I-76 at Bailey Road.

Estimated completion: November 2023.

State Route 165 & 534 resurfacing, Beaver, Green and Goshen Townships

Impact on drivers:

• SR 165 between S.R. 14 and S.R. 46 has various lane restrictions for bridge repairs.
• Starting today, SR 534 between the Columbiana County line to just south of Calla Road will have various lane restrictions for resurfacing.

Estimated completion: late-July 2023

Interstate 224 & State Route 170 signal replacements in Village of Poland/Poland Twp.

Impact on drivers:

• Nightly lane restrictions on I-224 between Pennsylvania Avenue and Riverside Drive between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.;
• SR 170 between Johnson Place and North Lima Rd. has various lane restrictions during non-peak travel times.

Estimated completion: late October 2023

Trumbull County

Update: State Route 305 is open again after completion of the culvert replacement in Bazetta Township

State Route 45 chip sealing in Bloomfield Township



Impact on drivers: Watch for lane restrictions on S.R. 45 between Peck Leach Road and S.R. 87

Estimated completion: late July 2023

State Route 169 resurfacing in Howland and Weathersfield Townships



Impact on drivers: Watch for lane restrictions on S.R. 169 between the southern Warren Corporation limit and North Road



Estimated completion: late July 2023

Ellsworth Bailey Road resurfacing in Lordstown



Impact on drivers: Watch for lane restrictions on Ellsworth Bailey Road between Lyntz and Palmyra Roads



Estimated completion: August 2023

State Route 7 resurfacing in Hartford Township

Impact on drivers: Watch for lane restrictions on S.R. 7 between Drake Road and Hartford Circle.

Estimated completion: late August 2023

U.S. 62 intersection improvements in Brookfield Township

Impact on drivers:

• All left turns at Broadway Ave. & U.S. 62 intersection is permanently closed.
• U.S. 62 between Bedford Road and Broadway Ave. has various lane restrictions.
• Beginning Monday, May 22, Bedford Road at U.S. 62 will be closed through late August — the detour for Bedford Road. Southbound is Stewart Sharon Road to S.R. 7 to Chestnut Ridge Road to U.S. 62. The detour for Bedford Road. Northbound is Broadway Ave. to S.R. 82 to U.S. 62.

Estimated completion: late October 2023

Columbiana County

State Route 45 culvert replacement project near Wellsville



Impact on drivers: State Route 45 will close starting June 21. State Route 45 will close three miles north of State Route 7 for 45 days for a culvert replacement project. The detour is SR 7 north to U.S. 30 west, U.S. 30 west back to SR 45, and reverse.



Estimated completion: end of July 2023

Resurfacing a four-mile section of U.S. 30 through East Liverpool

Impact on drivers: One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction

Estimated completion: end of Oct. 2023

Southbound slide repair on S.R. 7 near Wellsville

Impact on drivers: One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times with a 12-foot width restriction

Estimated completion: July 31, 2023

City of Salem SR 344/Franklin Avenue repair project

Impact on drivers: State Route 344, also known as Franklin Avenue, is closed to traffic for 190 days to repair and replace concrete along a stretch of Franklin Avenue (State Route 344) from South Lincoln Avenue to Southeast Blvd. Non-local traffic is detoured via Southeast Blvd. to State Street, State Street to Lincoln Avenue., and reverse.

Estimated completion: Oct. 31, 2023
