Honors keep rolling in for retired South Range coach Dan Yeagley
The honors keep pouring in for retired South Range head football coach Dan Yeagley.
Yeagley, regarded as one of the top high school football coaches in Ohio during his illustrious 28-year career, capped it off by leading the Raiders to the school’s first-ever state football playoff championship last fall. The Raiders completely dominated the Ironton Tigers 53-27 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton December 2 to claim the Division V state football title.
Awards continue after Dan Yeagley’s retirement
Yeagley retired following last season and has already been named to two separate area halls of fame. He finished his coaching career with an outstanding 248-75 record.
In early June, he was inducted into the Mahoning Valley Coaches Association Hall of Fame during ceremonies at the Jack Arvin Classic at Canfield High School.
Then, just last week, Yeagley was welcomed into the Quad County Coaches Association Hall of Fame. He was officially inducted into that HOF during halftime ceremonies at the 44th annual Stateline Football Classic held at Salem’s Sebo Stadium.
It was an extra special night for South Range football fans, as Yeagley was inducted into the Quad County Coaches Hall of Fame and five of his players from his state title team played in the Stateline Classic for Ohio. Those players included quarterback Bill Skripac, tight end-defensive lineman J.D. Crouse, fullback-linebacker Tyler Remish, offensive-defensive lineman Chris Colucci and offensive-defensive lineman Bailey Ryan.
South Range had the most players selected to play for Ohio in this year’s Stateline Classic.
