Historic 1920’s era plane set to take off at Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport
This weekend, there’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take a ride in a 1920s-era airplane coming to Trumbull County terminal.
It’s the first luxury airliner from the Roaring ’20s, the Tin Goose Ford Tri-Motor coming to the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport.
The plane has been restored and toured across the country by the Liberty Aviation Museum in Port Clinton since 2014, according to the Experimental Aircraft Association, which is in partnership with the museum.
Guests can climb aboard with tickets or take pictures while watching from the ground as flights take off throughout the day now until July 16.
Flights run continuously today, from 2-5 p.m. to Saturday through Sunday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Head to Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport at 1453 Youngstown Kingsville Road in Vienna.
It’s recommended you have some ear protection; the tour provides ear plugs.
Revenue from the Ford Tri-Motor tour helps cover maintenance, operations costs for the aircraft, and overall travel.
Watching the plane take off is free, but if you want to be a passenger on a flight, it’ll cost between $65 and $95. Get tickets online.
