A Niles business directly supports teenagers and young adults in the community with jobs and foster home placement all while serving up coffee and pastries.

What is Cadence Coffeeshop and Creperie?

Created by the Cadence Care Network, the cafe is located downtown at 31 North Main St., across from the McKinley Memorial Library.

According to director of marketing Ryan McNaughton, Cadence Coffeeshop and Creperie celebrated a successful first year in operation after opening in 2022.

The cafe has had thousands of customers stop by in their first year, according to their Facebook posts.

They’ve also been able to employ a number of the at-risk youth their founding organization services in the area, giving them a safe, learning environment to work in.

They’re typically open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m., but check their Facebook for upcoming special events.

Cadence Care Network nonprofit

The Cadence Care Network is a non-profit agency finding foster care for children in Trumbull County up to the age of 22, many who have been through emotional or physical abuse.

In addition to placement, the Cadence Care Network transforms at-risk young adult’s outlook by giving them valuable life skills and job opportunities at the coffeeshop.

How can you support them?

They’re just wrapped up their one-year anniversary celebration, but there are ways you can still support the business and the nonprofit organization.

Starting Saturday, donate to Cadence Care as part of The Community Foundation of Western PA and Eastern Ohio’s annual Giving Week.

All donations will be matched, no matter the amount. Donations can be submitted here.

Next month, there’s another chance to support Cadence Care at a Mahoning Valley Scrappers game.

For one night only, the Scrappers will be rebranded as the Cookie Tables, honoring the legacy of one of Trumbull County’s favorite treat traditions.

Partnering with Cadence Care Network, the Scrappers are raffling off a suite that’s valued at more than $1,000 and comes with a food and drink package.

The winner will get 12 suite tickets, along with three parking passes.

The drawing is happening Aug. 15, and you have to buy raffle tickets by Aug. 5, which are $10 each, three for $25, and seven for $50.

All money raised for the raffle to get these seats at Eastwood Field will go to Cadence Care Network in Niles.
